YES, Cross-Cultural Training is for EVERYBODY

Isn’t cross-cultural training effective only for an international audience?    …Our short answer is No.

Depending on how you define ‘culture’, cross-cultural training is applicable to any organization that would like to reduce miscommunication and increase mutual understanding among culturally diverse people who participate in the day-to-day practice of business. 

PAPTAKE CCC’s workshops and training are designed to bridge perceived gaps across cultures in various work environments. We define culture in terms of race, ethnicity, social class, generation/age, learning & communication style, physical ability, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. Our intended audience encompasses international and American organizational members including company owners, non-profit officials, department managers, HR specialists, sales agents, customer service representatives, market researchers, health-care professionals, teachers, school administrators, scholars, students, etc.
 
We introduce methods to discover differences as well as commonalities among cultures that are brought into the workplace by diverse employees, customers and other stakeholders. Our focus is not limited to simply informing participants of the characteristics of unfamiliar cultures. We assist our clients in discovering new perspectives that will enable them to understand issues from multiple standpoints when tackling conflicts and building healthy work relationships.

PAPTAKE CCC’s methodologies promote dialogue among participants around real-life cases that either have happened or could happen in multicultural/international work settings. We do not rely on a traditional lecture style instruction, but rather we incorporate hands-on exercises, visual learning aids, and small & large group discussions that help participants become interested and remain engaged in cross-cultural communication issues.
